About ScanFood.AI
ScanFood.AI is an AI-powered calorie counter that lives inside Telegram. Send a photo of your meal — or describe it in text or voice — and the bot returns calories, protein, carbs and fat in seconds, then saves everything to your food diary automatically. More than 50,000 people use it to track what they eat.
We built ScanFood.AI because manual food logging is the #1 reason people quit calorie counting. Searching databases, weighing ingredients, picking the right entry out of twenty near-identical ones — it works, but almost nobody sticks with it. Photo recognition removes that friction: logging a meal takes about three seconds.
We are a small independent team. No ad network owns us, we do not sell user data, and the product is funded by subscriptions alone — which means our only incentive is that tracking works for you.
Editorial standards
Nutrition is a health topic, and we treat it that way. Every article in our blog follows three rules:
- Primary sources only. Calorie and nutrient figures come from USDA FoodData Central or equivalent national databases; health claims must be backed by peer-reviewed research or official dietary guidelines.
- No miracle promises. We write about calorie balance, not detoxes, fat-burning foods or metabolism hacks. Where evidence is mixed, we say so.
- Dated and maintained. Articles carry their publication date; when facts change (prices, app features, guidelines), we update the text rather than leave it stale.
Our nutrition content is written by Emma Collins, nutrition writer & researcher. ScanFood.AI is a tracking tool, not a medical service — for personal dietary advice, especially with a medical condition, talk to your doctor or a registered dietitian.
